I was just in that area and I spotted a reference in my Bently to a valve on the bottom of the radiator.

I know it takes several fills to get the radiator topped off by letting it warm up will all the stuff running (heater and I used lights to put engine under slight load) and get the thermostat to open. The surge tank will bubble and when you turn off the machine and let it cool LET IT COOL!! Remove the surge tank cap and add more fluid.. I did this 3 times and all I was doing was adding a temperature gauge.

Use vice grips to remove and replace the hose clamps. They worked fine for the installation of a Hotlink from Cravenspeed.
I wish MINI had a dealership as close to us as the Mazada, VW, Subaru and Honda provide.
