The "Screw Cam Newton" Meet for Mead Tasting

If you are like me, you would rather [fill in your own dreadful option] than watch Cam Newton play next weekend. For those of you in the same boat I offer an alternative--Mead tasting in Woodinville. For those that have never tried mead you are missing out. My wife and I first tried it in Boston and loved it. It is like wine, but made from honey rather than grapes. We can all drowned our sorrows together and talk about next year’s Seahawk run to the Superbowl, or avoid the topic of football altogether.

Here is a link to their website:
http://www.skyriverbrewing.com/

We can play it by ear, but if we want to try some nearby wine or beer tasting rooms, there are plenty. Here is a link to the map with all the wineries listed:
http://woodinvillewinecountry.com/maps/

Time: Sunday, Feb. 7 at 1pm.

Address: Sky River Mead, 14270 Woodinville Redmond RD NE, Redmond, WA.

For folks coming up from the south end, throw out a meet up location and we can convoy up together. The calendar RSVP has a list of meet-up locations.

Excellent!!!

For those in the Olympia area, we will meet at Cutters Point Coffee (Marvin Rd) and stopping at Northwest MINI, Starbucks in Covington (168th), and Top Pot Doughnuts in Issaquah to meet other MINI owners wanting to talk about the Seahawks. Mead tasting is a bonus. Please respond on this thread to let us know who will be at each stop. I'll post approximate departure times when we finalize the proposed route.

I like the route. To be clear though, I assume the Starbucks in Covington is the one closest to the freeway by Petco and across from Fred Meyer. There are 3 in a two block radius.

Yes, it's the one on 168th, just off the Hwy 18 exit/entrance. You know, the one you were at when you waved at us on another run.

Some say this event is sour grapes, but they're wrong.......it's fermented honey!

Great day motoring to Sky River with Mitch and Teri and their friends Jared and Stephanie. Pulled into the parking lot to see David and Linda Roundhill, who we haven't seen in years. Nice to touch base with them again. David only has 65,000 miles on his '03 MCS JCW and sold his Innocenti to someone living in Switzerland - almost to where his adventure with his Mini began.

Oh, and the Mead was great.

That was fun. We had a beautiful day, some great mead and wine, good pizza, and some good laughs. Thanks to all those that came out.
